State of Maine Map Kit

Introduction

KATYC and the Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission has developed the State of Maine Map Kit. The State of Maine Map Kit is a tool intended to help educators relate geographic information to their students. The themes are varied and allow teachers to show relationships among different sets of geographic data. You may download any or all of the maps.

Components

Click here to view a list of map themes.

Each Kit comes with a number of transparencies that depict different themes. Some themes identify point locations while others identify areas. The layers are intended to be used in conjunction with the State of Maine transparency base map. The information was gathered from public sources or was generated by staff at the Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission. The information is general in nature and is not intended to represent specific locations. The user may find that certain themes do not depict all possible sites within the theme. Such instances are unintentional.
